Fresh from ruining Southern California’s underage American football scene, everyone’s favourite fog-eyed Crip Snoop Dogg has decided to follow Jay-Z’s lead and take the logical step of combining Punjabi beats with rap.
The renowned pimp/paternity-themed reality TV show star has taken things a step further, however. In the new Bollywood movie Singh is Kinng, Snoop “represents the Poonjabi”, rapping with Akshay Kumar on the title song.
It’s unclear exactly why Snoop features in the film, or whether he plays any part in the the story. The film appears to be a comedy, and Snoop Dogg’s contribution (sample: “Watch me zoom by/Make it boom by/What up to all the ladies hangin’ out in Mumbai”) can only add to that.
The song’s apparently topping the charts in India though. That old hip hop proverb, “I’m not a businessman, I’m a business, man” seems to ring true.
Here’s the video, found on Pop Culture Will Eat Itself. Full story from the Beeb.

Finally, the worlds two greatest musical genres - pop-hop and bollywood music hall, fuse. Quick, someone grab M.I.A out of retirement, I smell a happening.
When snoop is doing home improvements, what is his favourite tool?
The chisel
Why does Snoop always have an umbrella?
For the drizzle.
Why does snoop use conditioner?
For the frizzle.
And on and on and they go. Snoop jokes, so satisfyingly easy.
