Some of you may have noticed that Analogue has been very quiet over the last two months. Unfortunately I’ve been forced to make a difficult decision about whether to continue printing Analogue or not. Over the last month, I’ve been trying to figure out a way to keep the mag going in printed form but it just isn’t viable any more. After 3 successful issues as a Trinity publication, Analogue was launched nationwide in August 2008 - literally two months after I finished my finals in college. Since then 4 issues of Analogue have been published, each building on the strengths and admittedly, the mistakes of previous issues.
For a bunch of college students and recent graduates, we did pretty well at launching a reasonably well respected magazine that covered some excellent indie and electronic music. I don’t really have too much else to say, I really didn’t want to make some grandiose statement about what we’ve achieved and how we’re victims of the recession blah blah blah. We gave it a go and sadly it wasn’t really the right time. So for now, there won’t be another print issue. Analogue will continue online and some interesting new features will be added to the site soon.
To all the bands we’ve interviewed and all our readers, Thanks a million.
Cheers,
Brendan McGuirk
Analogue Editor

Pity to see it go, thanks to everyone on the editorial team, Bren in particular. Hope the website continues strongly, and Analogue can rise from the ashes in the future.
Hope it works out well online, Bren. Look forward to whatever’s next.
A real pity but best of luck online
Fair play to you all for showing the ambition in the first place, God knows we need a decent music magazine in print in this country.
Best of luck to all concerned and well done.
This sucks, guys. Well done for giving it a lash and producing something y’all can be proud of. Best of luck online.
Rock.
Best of luck online. It’s so hard to keep print going these days.
That was meant to be a sad face obvs
Very sad news, really enjoyed this mag. Thanks for all the support Bren and best of luck online.
This is such a shame, I had high hopes that you lot would stick around for a good while longer…it’s looking more and more like a Hotpress-dominated music print market!
Sorry to hear that but glad to see the website will be carrying on, it looks great and ye’ve been doing great reviews!
You do some excellent interviews, so pleasing to hear the online side of the house shall remain in business. In an objective sense, all that is being spoken of here is a change in the manner in which readers are reached. The quality of your writing carries on regardless!
Bonne continuation!
Fuck Gutenberg.
Hi Analogue ppl,
Thanks for four months of printed bliss, I always enjoyed reading. I think there’s definitely space for a great website like this that’s dedicated to Irish and international independent artists though - hopefully you can keep the site going until the economy picks up.
xxNiamh
Thanks everyone for your kind words…
cheers,
bren
Analogue will live on some way. And Mr McGuirk, if you started this venture in 2002/2003 it would be a very different story today. Your talents as an editor ran up against an immovable object called the recession. Keep the chin up and be proud of all this dude. I’ve had a great time working for you so far, and surely will continue to in the coming months.
Pretty much what Darragh said: it wasn’t the right time. Print’s in its dying throes all over.
Your content’s top notch and there’s a range of taste and attitudes satisfying the appetite for independent music journo here. So for what it’s worth, as long as you keep writing, I’ll keep reading. And I’m not the only one.
ah poppycock,
well I thought you guys would survive the print fall out, bein the fitter and leaner of the species. Sell the beautiful vinyl next time i guess, if there is a next time, oh the days.
Hey Brendan, it’s a pity to see the passing of the print edition, but I’ve no doubt there are even greater things in store from a team that’s achieved so much in such a short space of time. I’ll be watching this space. Good luck!
hello, where can i send you a link so you can download matt hardings new album?
thanks
